I want to talk about the easiest way to get traffic to your articles. Everyone has their own formula, and if you know something about social signals and SEO, then that's probably the easiest way to get a lot of traffic over the long term.
However, ranking on Google has become a bit harder to do on article writing sites like Factoidz, since the Panda algorithm update on Google.
You generally have to go for more specific searches, which may not get all that many exact match searches a month, unless you want to spend a lot of time making back links to the articles, and being careful to get the on-page optimization exactly right.
That's not easy, so for me personally, the easiest way to get traffic to your articles is social media optimization. As soon as I publish an article, I share it with all of my social connections on Twitter, Facebook, Google Plus and sometimes on Linked In, Stumble Upon and Yahoo Answers.
All of those links I just gave you are to other articles of mine which explain how to get more traffic to your articles. I won't go into it in as much detail in this article, but I will tell you how I spend an average day in terms of my traffic building efforts.
For me, the best and easiest way to get traffic to your articles is probably to pick a title that doesn't have too much competition, but still gets a reasonable amount of people searching for it.
In this particular case, there is a lot of competition for this long tail keyword phrase, simply because a lot of article writers write about writing article, so I don't know if I will even get on the first page of results for this article.
Still, it's not hard to think of a fairly long phrase that people are likely to type into Google a bit, and I don't put much more thought into it than that.
If it seems like somebody would search for it, I write the article, because often you can pick up broad match searches that are related to those keywords.
In terms of what I do every day, I click the button on Twiends and You Like Hits to get more Twitter followers, and other social connections.
On You Like Hits, you get fifty points a day just for logging in, and this can be used to get Google Plus followers, Facebook page likes, Twitter followers, or a number of other things.
Sometimes I add people on Facebook, but my time would be a lot better spent joining groups on Linked In, or answering a relevant question on Yahoo Answers.
I get a lot of traffic from Stumble Upon, but it's not really targeted traffic, and I have to vote up about fifty shares a day, which is very time consuming.
If you're interested, I have a gig on Fiverr where I will share your site with all my social connections for five dollars, or I offer the same thing on my site, as well as a whole range of different social media marketing services.
Personally, I like the Twitter followers, and I think if I had to name one thing, I would say that would be the easiest way to get traffic to your articles. You just do a tweet, and get traffic straight away, so long as you have lots of followers.
You need at least ten thousand followers, I have twenty thousand on one account. With that you can get at least a couple of hits on anything you tweet, then it's just a matter of how much you tweet. My site sells cheap Twitter followers if you're interested, but it's easy to get them yourself on Twiends, it just takes time.
Thank you for answering my questions Rowan.
My personal favourite is Twitter, it is indeed the best way to get traffic.
Thanks for the tips.
I find Twitter and Google+ the best ways to get articles spread to more people. Good advice here.
Excellent Article! Google+ and Twitter are great tools to get a lot of traffic.
Excellent tips my friend. I wish I knew how to use Twitter properly. I have more than 1200 followers but I don't really understand how to use it properly.
